What’s your prescription for making KC healthy? That’s the question being asked online by the Healthy KC Commission - a partnership of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and a number of regional health and wellness leaders. This group is calling its efforts “Healthy KC". The commission’s plan is to create high-level task forces that will focus on key health issues using the strength and influence of the commission to bring a regional approach to health and wellness. Recently five members of the Chamber’s Healthy KC Commission gathered to talk about the state of KC’s health and how to improve it. The five included David Gentile, President & CEO, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City; Robb Heineman, CEO of Sporting Club, the parent organization of Sporting Kansas City, and one of the club’s five principal owners; Mayor Sly James of Kansas City, Missouri; Mayor/CEO Mark Holland of Kansas City, Kansas/Wyandotte County; and Jim Heeter, President & CEO of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
